American Cancer Society Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Oak Ridge is on Saturday, May 16, at Oak Ridge High School Track. The Relay is scheduled from 3 to 10 p.m.

Organizers are asking you to turn out and “help finish the fight against cancer.”

“This event celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those we have lost, and provides the community with an opportunity to unite and fight back against this disease,” a press release said.

Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in this exciting team event, the release said. It’s a free event and open to the public.

Teams will be hosting activities and selling food throughout the event. Funds raised through Relay For Life support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to make this cancer’s last century.

In the event of bad weather, the Relay will be moved inside the gym at Oak Ridge High School.
