Curves of Oak Ridge re-opened in March, with a new location at 130 Ridgeway Center, a new local owner, and new classes, a press release said.
The release said Curves is a facility specifically designed for women featuring a complete 30-minute workout that is fun, fast and safe.
“The new owner, Josee Tousignant, is thrilled about reopening the Curves now at Ridgeway Center, and is most proud to say that there will always be a ‘personal coach’ on site, which is included in the membership plan,” the release said. “One of the most appealing things about Curves is that women can complete an entire body workout designed specifically for women in 30 minutes.”
The workout is done by going thru the Curves Circuit, which features hydraulic resistance machines that work every major muscle group. Classes are also offered, and currently it’s the “Jillian Michaels” workouts. Every three months, a different class will be introduced. The Silver Sneakers Fitness Program is another one of the options that is offered, along with Zumba which was scheduled to begin April 10.
The release said Tousignant is delighted to be part of the Oak Ridge business establishments and has already been able to give back. She and the Curves members conducted a March Food Drive, and collected more than 450 pounds of food to donate to the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. Plans for April included a visit to the Children’s Museum for a demonstration and also to the “Divas for a Cure” Oak Ridge Relay for Life fundraising event on April 25 at the Civic Center.
