Robert Louis Hale

Robert Louis Hale, 81, of Louisville, passed away on July 20.

He was born to parents, Everett and Connie Spradlin Hale on April 5, 1931 in Morley, Tenn.

Robert was a Veteran with the U.S. Navy and worked as an engineer with Martin Marietta Energy Systems at the Y-12 facility, where he received several prestigious awards.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingston and was a well-known blacksmith, having studied under master blacksmith Francis Whitaker of Aspen, Colo.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Everett and Connie Hale, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hale.

Survivors include wife, Elogene Clark Hale, of Louisville; brother, Bruce Donald Hale, of Knoxville and formerly of Clinton; a very special and loving uncle to Patricia Wayne and husband, Roy; Nancy Burnette and husband, Perry, all of Knoxville; Robert Hale and wife, Cindy of Ft. Worth, Texas; and very special friends, Todd and Karen Butz of Oak Ridge and their children, Mr. and Mrs. David Butz of South Carolina, Lauren and fiancée of Oregon, and Ryan of Oak Ridge.

The military graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association, Knoxville Office, 900 E. Hill Avenue, Suite 240, Knoxville, TN 37915.
