Sarah Cathryn “Cathy” Gunter

Sarah Cathryn “Cathy” Gunter, age 61, of Russellville, Tennessee, and formerly of Oak Ridge, died Friday, January 23, at the Morristown Hamblen Health Care System.

She was born February 15, 1953, in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Richard Edward Brockwell and Sylvia White Brockwell.

In earlier years, Cathy had worked at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter.

In addition to her mother, Sylvia Brockwell of Lenoir City, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ben Gunter; son, Jess Gunter, both of Russellville; brother, Charles “Buster” Brockwell of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Courtney Paige Rosenbaum and River Anderson Shelton.

In keeping with her wishes, Cathy will be cremated. A graveside service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park is planned for a later date.
