Charles Denver Maberry

Charles Denver Maberry, age 88, passed away Monday, November 24, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.

He was born October 30, 1926, in Putnam County, Tennessee, to Edgar and Lola Maberry. He was a 1945 graduate of Gainesboro High School in Jackson County, Tennessee.

As a longtime member of the Highland View Church of Christ, he served for many years as a deacon in charge of the children’s education program. He was also very active in the benevolence program at the Providence House and he led the “50 plus” ministry at the church for over 10 years.

He began working at K-25 in 1945 and remained with the Department of Energy for nearly 47 years, finishing his career at Y-12.

He and his wife of 58 years, Dorothy, enjoyed traveling. They visited most of the 50 states along with several foreign countries. He enjoyed gardening and caring for a yard full of beautiful flowers. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Barbara Maberry Seamon and husband Jonathan of Nolensville, Tennessee; son, Ralph Maberry of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Justin Seamon and wife Audrey of Nolensville, Tennessee, Benjamin Seamon and wife Elizabeth of Nashville, Bethany Seamon of Nolensville, Joshua Maberry of Oak Ridge, and Tabitha Maberry of Los Angeles, California; and one great-grandson, Miller Seamon of Nolensville.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Highland View Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. with Curtis McClane officiating. Family and friends will meet for a graveside service on Sunday, November 30, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Seamon, Benjamin Seamon, Joshua Maberry, Rick Butturini, David Gentry, David Maberry, and Jeffrey Maberry. Honorary pallbearers are the Highland View Church of Christ elders and the Highland View Church of Christ 50-plus group.

In addition to flowers, memorials can be made to Jovenes en Camino (boys home in Honduras), c/o Brentwood Hills Church of Christ, 5120 Franklin Rd., Nashville, TN 37220, or to the Disaster Relief Fund, PO Box 111180, Nashville, TN 37222.
