Christena Lee Hasbrouck passed away quietly Monday, November 10, in her home in Oak Ridge.

She was born March 4, 1947, the daughter of Robert E. Bruggema and Mary V. (Poterack) Bruggema. She grew up in El Cajon, California, the eldest of seven children, and moved later in her life to Eastern Tennessee.

She was the loving mother to six children (Paula, Geoff, Jason, Ricky, Jenny, and Rachel). She was grandmother to 12 (Derrick, Toshia, Brandon, Ethan, Dylan, Jacob, Leann, Kattie, Maddie, Rylieanne, Seth, and Brynlee), and one great-grandson (Bronson).

Known as Christie by family and friends, she was also beloved aunt, surrogate mother, mentor, and friend to many. She collected birdhouses, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

In lieu of flowers, her children would like donations to be made to KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries)

The family had a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 23, from 2 to 5 p.m. at 120 East Irving Ln, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
