Barbara J. Scott

Barbara J. Scott, 76, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab in Knoxville on September 13, 2014.

She was born June 22, 1938, to parents Lonnie Mason and Nancy Hodges.

Barbara moved to New York and lived and worked there for over 50 years. She was a bar manager for years, then she made the move to child care, where she worked until her health began to decline.

Her survivors include two children, Dwayne Horton of Los Angeles, California, and Rhonda Scott-Dent of Queens, New York; stepdaughters, Diane and Darlene; grandchildren, Jeshua Horton, Jason Horton, Briana Lynia, Johnathan Ray, Kendra Janay, and Lauren Jenette; great-grandchildren, Alijah, Allayah, Ayssa, Jeremy, and Jace; and very close and personal friend Mary Brown of Queens, New York.

The family received friends Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Scarboro Church of Christ at 204 Hampton Road. The memorial service began at 2 p.m. with Charles Caruthers officiating.
