V. Louise "Nanny" Rhodey

V. Louise “Nanny” Rhodey

V. Louise Rhodey, “Nanny,” age 91, of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, August 10, at Golden Living Center-Windwood in Clinton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Louise enjoyed working with the needy in the community. She was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist in Clinton.

Louise was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, William C. Rhodey; son, Billy Rhodey; brother, L.L. “Tom” White; and three sisters.

Louise is survived by her sons, Charles Rhodey and wife Carolyn “Jean” of Oliver Springs, Steve Rhodey and wife Jeanne of Clinton, Archer Rhodey and wife Linda of Oak Ridge, and Randy Rhodey of Oak Ridge; stepson, Giles Rhodey of Daphne, Alabama; daughter, Connie Hurley and husband Michael of Clinton; stepdaughter, Winifred Edgeworth of Daphne, Alabama; and sisters, Ella Fay Ryan and husband Newton of Deland, Florida, and Ann Panozza of Cedar Lake, Indiana. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Louis’s family and friends were able to call at their convenience on Wednesday, August 13, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Jones Mortuary. Her interment and graveside will be on Thursday, August 14, at 2 p.m. at the Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton with Dr. Donnie Moore officiating.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
