Ralph E. Hensley, age 80, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away, Monday, August 11, at his home, while surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hensley was born, September 6, 1933, in Anderson County. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
Ralph served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. After his service to our country, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 38 years. He was a member of Batley Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Mr. Hensley is preceded in death by his parents, Mack Hensley and Donna Powell Hensley, and by his first wife, Annie Francis Hensley.Â
Ralph is survived by his wife, Lillian McKamey Hensley of Batley; and stepchildren Don McKamey and wife Vicki of Batley, Nina Carlisle and husband William, and Joyce Bass all of Oliver Springs, and Kay Smith and husband Wayne of Batley. Additionally Mr. Hensley is survived by eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Myrtle Brown, and many extended family members and special friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 15, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m.. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Luke Kidwell officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held at 11 a.m.. Saturday, August 16, at the Childs Cemetery.
