The Oak Ridge High School Boys Basketball Boosters will have their 17th annual golf tournament in September.
This year’s event—a four-man scramble format—will be held September 13 at Centennial Golf Course in Oak Ridge. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Sponsored by BSN Sports, the tournament costs just $75 per person, a press release said.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. with a fundraiser breakfast and free range balls for participants. A Mulligan Package is also available for $20, which includes mulligans, a red tee, a door prize ticket, and a putting contest ticket.
There will be prizes awarded to the teams finishing first in the top two flights, as well as awards for the closest-to-the-pin on three different holes. In addition, a longest-drive competition will be part of the tournament.
All proceeds will go to help fund the 2014-2015 boys basketball team at Oak Ridge High School, which hopes to find continued success after two straight state playoff runs, including runner-up last season.
A lunch sponsored by Popeye’s Catering will be held for all players at the conclusion of the event.
Golf teams and hole sponsors are still needed. For more information, contact ORHS boys’ coach Aaron Green at (865) 423-1829 or tournament director Matt Reedy at (865) 306-7162.
