Timothy Bradford “Brad” Perry

Timothy Bradford “Brad” Perry, age 43, a resident of Knoxville and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville.

Brad was born February 6, 1971, in Oak Ridge. He grew up in Oliver Springs and graduated from the Oliver Springs High School in 1990. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and began his military career at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, where he graduated Army Training, as a 19D Cav Scout. He was next stationed at the Downs Barracks in Fulda, Germany, for two years. He later served our country in Desert Storm and returned back to the U.S. in 1992, when he was assigned to the 844th Engineering Battalion as a truck driver, until 2003 when he was re-assigned as a 79V Army Reserve Career Counselor with the 4th battalion Army Reserve Careers Division.

Brad played football while he was a student at Oliver Springs High School, and he continued to be a football enthusiast throughout his life. GO VOLS! Additionally, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially on memorial day on the Dragon.

Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Flossie Gaylor Perry; and by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Essie Daniels Kilgore.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Ursula Perry of Knoxville; by daughters, Jordan Brook Perry, Taylor Marie Perry, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Perry, all of Oak Ridge, and Anastasia Amyx of Knoxville; by his mother, Reba Ann Kilgore Bridges and husband Glenn of Oak Ridge; and by his father, Fredrick Samuel Perry and wife Carol of Powell.

He is also survived by two brothers, Randy Perry and wife Karen of Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, and Tony Perry and wife Leigh of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.

The family received friends Monday, June 23, 2014, between 1 and 3 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplin Kevin Childs officiating. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
