Obituary: Gail Prater Clinton

Gail Prater Clinton, age 63, a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Clinton was born January 25, 1951, in the Stone Building in Oliver Springs. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

Gail was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Prater and Lola Miller Prater; by her husband, Gary Lynn Clinton; by a brother, Carl Prater; and by a brother-in-law, Charles Myers.

Mrs. Clinton is survived by daughters, Stacy Landrum of Oak Ridge and Tonya Clinton of Oliver Springs; by a son, Gary “Skeeter” Clinton and wife Petie of Oliver Springs; and by grandchildren, Tiffany Clinton, Dakota Clinton, Bradley Clinton, Autumn Landrum, and William Landrum.

She is also survived by sisters, Sandra Byrge and husband James of Oliver Springs, and Wilma Myers of Oliver Springs; and by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family received friends on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral was held Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at New Fairview Baptist Church, with Pastor John Edwards officiating. The burial followed at the New Fairview Cemetery.
