Miriam Moles

Miriam Moles age 91, of Norris, passed away Thursday, June 28, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and was a mother to the community.

Miriam was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Indian Gap Baptist Church. Miriam enjoyed quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verlin and Elizabeth McGlothin; husband, James Moles; sons, Kenneth and wife Thelma Moles, Charles Moles, Robert and wife Sue Moles, and Delbert Moles; and daughter, Mary, and husband Grant Howard.

She is survived by her sons, Leon Moles and wife Lou Ann of Dayton, Ohio, Carl Moles and wife June of St. Augustine, Fla., Jesse Moles and wife Barbara of Andersonville, and Arnold Moles and wife Xenia of Nashville; daughters, Juanita Harrison and husband Ted of Kentucky, Melba Shoenleben and husband Steve of Bradford, Ohio, and Esther Queener of Norris; daughter-in-law, Peggy Moles of Andersonville; brothers, Paul McGlothin and wife Carolyn of Bradford, Ohio, and Jacob McGlothin of Arcanum, Ohio; sister, Mary Thomas and husband Don of Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary Ann, Sarah, Becky, Jason, Valerie, James, Robbin, Josh, and Jesse; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Miriam’s family will receive her friends on Saturday, June 30, from 2–4 p.m., with her funeral service following at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Jeff Wood, Rev. Kenny Bean, and Rev. Darryl Taylor officiating. Her interment will follow her funeral services at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery in Andersonville.

The family would like to thank Methodist Medical Center and Covenant Hospice for the excellent care they had given to momma.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
