Jeanette S. Miller

Jeanette S. Miller, 73, of Oak Ridge, passed away on June 23 at Methodist Medical Center.

She was born in Tupelo, Miss., on September 12, 1938, to parents B.T. and Mary Tucker Shumpert.

Jeanette retired from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2009 as a management analyst, was past president of Federally Employed Women of DOE, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She and her husband, James W. Miller, were married on February 15, 1957.

Her survivors include her husband, James W. Miller; son, James Wesley Miller, Jr. and wife, Lisa; daughter, Jennifer Miller; siblings, John M. Shumpert and wife, Marilyn, of Oak Ridge; Betty Witt and husband, Ed, of Fairfield Glade; Jack T. Shumpert and wife, Norma, Suwanee, Ga.; grandchildren, Joshua, Jonny, Jacob, and Holly; and great-grandson, Drew Thomas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 163 N. Jefferson Cr., Oak Ridge, TN 37380.
