Obituary: Laura Harmon

Laura Harmon, age 71, of Oak Ridge, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 11, at Methodist Medical Center.

Laura was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making baby dolls, and especially making dresses for her new baby girls being born into the family. Laura was the matriarch of her family. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lilly Lester; son, Ernest Eugene Coyer Jr.; three brothers; and three sisters.

Laura is survived by her daughters, Kathryn C. Stephens of Oak Ridge, Tamra Rena Cruse and husband James of Oak Ridge, Chrystal Lynn Coyer and Bobby of Boston, Kimberly Suzan Mathis of Wisconsin; sister, Luara Carte of West Virginia; and 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Laura’s family received her friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the First Dutch Valley Baptist in Dutch Valley with her celebration of life at 5 p.m. with Rev. Gene Roach officiating.
