ORNL Federal Credit Union will have its next cash mob at Cutie Patootie’s Repeat Boutique in historic Jackson Square in Oak Ridge on Thursday.
The cash mob is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The first 30 customers will receive a $20 gift card to use within the store, courtesy of ORNL Federal Credit Union, a press release said. There is a limit of one gift card per family or couple.
Cutie Patootie’s Repeat Boutique is at 209 Jackson Square.
“Founded by owner and single mom, Wendy Holloway, Cutie Patootie’s Repeat Boutique in Oak Ridge is the epitome of small business with its local feel, loyal customers, and personalized service,” the press release said. “The resale boutique has been serving the Oak Ridge community for several years by offering new and gently used items for babies, children, teens and women, including toys, handmade hair bows and accessories, jewelry, shoes, clothing, and more.
“From pregnant moms to kids of all ages and even grandmas, Cutie Patootie’s has something for everyone, and (this) is just one of the reasons that it has been selected to host ORNL Federal Credit Union’s next Small Business Counts cash mob.”
The press release said the Small Business Counts cash mob program was created in July 2013 as a way to recognize and show support for local merchants in the 16 counties that ORNL FCU serves by encouraging people to shop locally during a given date and time. The program includes the promotion and support of one or two local businesses each month and will continue throughout 2014.
The first 30 customers to arrive at each cash mob receive a $20 gift card to use within the store or restaurant, the release said.
For more information about the Small Business Counts program or to nominate a local merchant, supporters can visit www.SmallBusinessCounts.com. There is no requirement for the business to be a member of ORNL Federal Credit Union to be selected for a cash mob. Details of future cash mobs are made available approximately one week in advance of each event.
