Patsy Marie Miracle Millenbruch

Patsy Marie Miracle Millenbruch of Oak Ridge died on Wednesday, March 5.

Pat was born on Feb. 19, 1935, to Marian Agnes “Mary Anne” Justice Miracle and Clarence “Mike” Miracle in Pineville, Ky.

She spent her early years in Pineville. In December 1942, the family moved to Norris when her father, a civil engineer, was assigned to a team laying out what would be the city of Oak Ridge. Her mother was a teacher in the Oak Ridge school system when it opened in the fall of 1943.

Although the family remained in Norris throughout World War II, they moved into Oak Ridge shortly after the war ended, when housing became available. As her family was involved in Oak Ridge from its inception, Pat considered herself a native of Oak Ridge.

Pat graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1952 and attended briefly both Transylvania College in Kentucky and University of a Tennessee in Knoxville before marrying in 1954.

After leaving Oak Ridge in the late 1950s, Pat went on to live in Uravan in Colorado, Casper in Wyoming, Grand Junction in Colorado, Niagara Falls in New York, Hot Springs in Arkansas, and Ridgefield in Connecticut, before returning to Oak Ridge in 1997, where she lived until her death.

Pat enjoyed cats, reading mystery novels, gardening, and playing duplicate bridge.

Pat was preceded in death by her father; her mother; her son, Michael Millenbruch; her daughter, Jeanine Millenbruch Knight; her brother, William Justice “Mike” Miracle; and her sister, Mary Nichols “Nickie” Miracle Plante.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Millenbruch Denniston and Ernest Denniston; grandchildren Tristan Langdon and Michaela Langdon; and great-grandson, Michael, all of Omaha, Neb.

She is survived locally by her brother-in-law, Joseph Plante; niece, Lisa Plante; and great-niece, Jemina Plante, of Oak Ridge. In addition, her niece Kathy Miracle Lawson and nephew Charlie Miracle survive her, as do several great- and great-great nieces and -nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
