Juanita Jones Cooper

Juanita Jones Cooper, age 62, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 5, at Methodist Medical Center.

Mrs. Cooper was born Sept. 19, 1951, in the Stephens Community in Morgan County.

Before her disability she was employed as a seamstress in the textile business at both Kellwood and Red Cap Industries.

She believed in the Baptist faith, and she enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Miller Jones and Cassie Carroll Jones; by grandchildren, Brian White and Carly Duncan; by sisters, Norma Taylor, Charlene Jones, and Juarlene Jones; and by brothers, Terry Willis “TJ” Jones, Howard Jones, and Billy Ray Jones.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by a daughter, Bridget Branam and companion Scotty Scarbro, of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Cassie Human and husband Michael, and Aaron Gunter; and by great-grandchildren, Laym and Jade Human.

Additionally, she is survived by three sisters, Irene Griffin of Wartburg, Mary Shepherd of LaFollette, and Olivia Rather and husband Roy, of Oliver Springs; and by brothers, Donald Jones and wife Ester of Harlingen, Texas, Benny Jones and wife Kim, of Coalfield, Harold Dean Jones and wife Cora Lou, of Coalfield, and by Ronnie Jones and wife Rhonda, of Wartburg.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tammie Brys, and by extended family members and a host of special friends including, Sue Raines.

Graveside services and burial were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Stephens Cemetery in Morgan County, with Pastor Ralph Wilson and Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.
