David Edward Riker

David Edward Riker, age 40, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was born Aug. 8, 1973, in Oak Ridge, the son of Brooksie Lea Lindsey and Richard Bertrand Riker, both of whom preceded him in death.

David graduated from ITT Technical Institute in 2001. He enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons and Power Grid, and every Saturday he was active with Dragoncon—groups that he had played with for many years.

He is survived by sister, LeighAnn Riker of Oak Ridge and nephew Caleb; aunt, Laverne (Charles) Hooper of Oak Ridge; and his best friend, Wayne Walls of Oak Ridge.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 17, from 7–8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m., with Lee Younger officiating.

The family asks that any memorials be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in David’s memory.

An online guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
