Bruce Borchers
Superintendent Bruce Borchers will discuss Oak Ridge Schools at Lunch with the League on Tuesday.
The meeting starts at noon Tuesday in the Social Hall of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 1500 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Borchers will focus on the theme “Building on Excellence: Where we were, where we are, and where we are going.” He will highlight achievement data, changing demographics, and initiatives that will help Oak Ridge students be successful in the 21st Century, a press release said.
Borchers has been superintendent since June 2013. He and his family moved to Oak Ridge from Eureka, Mo., where he was superintendent of the Rockwood School District.
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge, Lunch with the League is open to the public. There is no cost to attend, and reservations are not needed. Box lunches will be available starting at 11:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis for $8, or you may bring your own. Coffee and tea are provided. If winter weather conditions force the closing of Oak Ridge city schools, Lunch with the Leagues will be canceled.
