Employees at Enrichment Federal Credit Union beat their goal and raised $11,482 for the United Way of Anderson County.

Each year, the credit union collects pledge forms and conducts several events to help raise money for the UWAC, a press release said. This year, the credit union set a goal of $9,000.

Employees just completed their month-long campaign, led by campaign co-chairs Northshore Branch Manager Ellora Drinnen and West Branch Manager April Fugate. Staff members used hamburger lunches, pancake breakfasts, chili cook-offs, and “Silly String attacks” were used to help raise money.

“The Silly String attacks were a big hit, since employees could sponsor a can of silly string to be sprayed on any manager,” a press release said. “For an extra couple of dollars, your can would remain anonymous. Managers never knew when the ‘attack’ might happen. More than 100 cans of silly string were purchased by employees.”

The money raised will benefit the 32 agencies supported by the United Way of Anderson County.

The press release said Enrichment Federal Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in Tennessee with more than 40,000 members, eight area offices, and assets of more than $390 million.

UWAC and its 34 community partners have 51 vital programs that address three core needs of the community: basic human needs, youth development, and the needs of seniors. For more information, call (865) 483-8431 or visit www.unitedwayandersoncounty.org.
