Susanna Marie Schorn, 42, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at her home in New Market, Ala.
Susanna graduated from Oak Ridge High School, where she played clarinet in the band and was selected for All State Band all three years. She also played violin in the Knoxville Youth Orchestra.
Susanna was an avid snow skier and water skier, having competed in water ski tournaments while in college. She had multiple cats and dogs, which she rescued.
Susanna graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering with a major in construction management. She was employed as a construction program manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She traveled extensively oversees and in this country for her work and vacationing.
Susanna is survived by her parents, Ethel and John Schorn, and by an aunt and uncle, Bertta and Bill Snell of Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends at the Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29. Graveside services will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30.
