Oak Ridge has announced the results of the Dec. 16 special meeting to elect members of boards and commissions and a board of directors for a new Oak Ridge Land Bank.
Here are the results:
ELECTIONS—EXISTING BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
- Elect one applicant to the Anderson County Community Action Commission
Mare Martell-Stotler was elected by ballot to serve on the Anderson County Community Action Commission for a one-year term starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Appoint two residents to the Anderson County Development Corporation’s Operating Committee (mayoral appointments)
Confirmed the appointments of Richard Chinn and Thomas Tuck to the Anderson County Development Corporation’s Operating Committee for four-year terms of office that start Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect one applicant to the Anderson County Economic Development Association
Dominic R. Giuliano was elected by acclamation to serve on the Anderson County Economic Development Association for a four-year term starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Appoint one resident to the Anderson County Tourism Council (mayoral appointment)
Confirmed the appointment of Council member Anne Garcia Garland to the Anderson County Tourism Council for a one-year term of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect two applicants to the Beer Permit Board
Debra K. Solmonson was reelected, and Darren Osborne elected by ballot to serve on the Beer Permit Board for three-year terms starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect two applicants to the Board of Building and Housing Code of Appeals
Bruce Ryan LeForce and John A. Russell were re-elected by ballot to the Board of Building and Housing Code of Appeals for three-year terms beginning Jan, 1, 2014.
- Elect one applicant to the Board of Zoning Appeals
Keith Craft was re-elected by acclamation to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Oak Ridge Convention and Visitors Bureau as hotel representatives
Gretchen A. Julius and Misty Williams were re-elected, and Troy Patel was elected by ballot to the Oak Ridge Convention and Visitors Bureau as hotel representatives for one-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Environmental Quality Advisory Board
Stephen Todd Kenworthy was re-elected, and Donna Kridelbaugh and Joseph Wood were elected by acclamation to serve on the Environmental Quality Advisory Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Health and Educational Facilities Board
Delores Moyer was elected, and Harold D. Osucha and David E. Wilson were re-elected by acclamation to serve on the Health and Educational Facilities Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect one applicant to the Oak Ridge Housing Authority
Sharon Crane was elected by ballot to the Oak Ridge Housing Authority for a five-year term of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Oak Ridge Municipal Planning Commission
Claudia S. Lever was re-elected, and H. Stephenson Whitson was elected by ballot to serve on the Oak Ridge Municipal Planning Commission to serve four-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014. Sharon Kohler was elected by ballot to serve on the Oak Ridge Municipal Planning Commission for balance of an unexpired term ending on Dec. 31, 2014.
- Elect two applicants to the Personnel Advisory Board
William Randy Tedford was re-elected, and Bill Henry elected by ballot to serve on the Personnel Advisory Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect four applicants to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board
Naomi Asher, Steven Dittner, Ray Garrett, and Fay M. Martin were elected by ballot to serve on the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Senior Advisory Board
Elizabeth Batchelor, representative of the Anderson County Adult Safety Coalition and Elder Watch, and Wendy Williams, representative of the Senior Citizen’s Club, were elected by acclamation to serve on the Senior Advisory Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
Gene R. Dunaway was re-elected by ballot to fill the remaining position on the Senior Advisory Board for a three-year term of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants to the Trade Licensing Board
Michael Maddux, Joe McCarty, and Jerry Seiber were elected by ballot to the Trade Licensing Board for three-year terms of office starting Jan. 1, 2014.
- Elect three applicants and one Planning Commission Representative to the Traffic Safety Advisory Board
Oak Ridge Municipal Planning Commission representative
Confirmed the nomination of Jane Shelton to serve on the Traffic Safety Advisory Board for a three-year term of office.
At-large positions
Andrew Howe was elected, and William Polfus and Ben Redmond were re-elected by ballot to the Traffic Safety Advisory Board for three-year terms of office beginning Jan, 1, 2014.
ELECTION—OAK RIDGE LAND BANK CORP. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
- Elect one member from the Oak Ridge City Council
Council member Charlie Hensley was elected by ballot to the Oak Ridge Land Bank Corp. board of directors as the Oak Ridge City Council representative for a term of office that is co-extensive with his current term of office (ending in November 2016).
- Elect six applicants to the Land Bank Corp. board of directors
Colin Anderson, Colin Colverson, Anne Dunthorn, Melinda K. Hillman, Charlie Jernigan, and Hugh B. Ward were elected by ballot to serve on the Oak Ridge Land Bank Corp. board of directors. Jernigan, Dunthorn, and Hillman were elected to serve a term of office valid through Dec. 31, 2015. Anderson, Colverson, and Ward were elected to serve a term of office valid through Dec. 31, 2014.
