Faye Martin Jones, age 79, of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at her home after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and, in later years, joined Kellytown Baptist Church. She was a faithful supporter of her grandchildren, being actively involved in their lives. She was delighted with the birth of each and every great-grandchild and enjoyed so many precious moments with them. Faye inherited her mama’s “sweet tooth” and never turned down her mini ice cream sandwiches!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Ab” Jones; parents, Georgia and Joseph Jones, and Fred Martin; and baby brother, Jimmy Martin.

She is survived by her children, Sonya Craze and husband Jerry, Connie Jones, Tim Jones and wife Kim, and Gary Jones and wife Shelby; grandchildren, Stacie Clark, Natasha Mehaffey and husband Raymond, Tiffany Martin and husband Greg, Devin Jones and wife Jessica, Kris Britnell, Scott Lane and wife Margie; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Mackenna Clark, Deagan and Kaelynn Jones, Anzlee Martin, Halston and Halden Mehaffey; sister, Carol Raby and husband Gordon; sister-in-law, Evelyn Tidwell; brother-in-law, Gene Jones and wife Jesse; and special friends, Ed and Melba Tuell, and Jerry and Phyllis White.

Our family was very blessed to keep our mother at home because of these wonderful, loving, and dedicated caregivers, Vickie Martin, Cathy Keathley, Jessica Jones, Lisa Harper, Melanie Parten, Eileen Poche, and Ali Woods.

In Mother’s memory, we will have a “Sweet Celebration” at her home following the service at the cemetery.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. in the New Fairview Church Cemetery and will be officiated by Bro. Matt Reed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the East Tennessee Alzheimer’s Assc., 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.

You can share your thoughts and memories on the Jackson Funeral Services website.
