The Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet will play Saturday evening at the New Hope Center in Oak Ridge.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the New Hope Center, which is on Scarboro Road near the front entrance to the Y-12 National Security Complex. It’s part of the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association’s Chamber Concert Series.
A press release said the guitarists consistently play to sold-out houses worldwide.
“Their inventive, critically acclaimed transcriptions of concert masterworks provide a fresh look at the music of the past, while their interpretations of works from the contemporary and world music realms continually break new ground,” the release said. “The four uniquely accomplished guitarists bring a new energy to the concert stage with a wide range of musical styles.”
The program for Saturday’s performance includes selections from “Pulcinella Suite” by Stravinsky; two Mexican pieces by Aaron Copland; “Hungarian Rhapsody #2” by Liszt, and “Spring Snow” by Gerald Garcia, which was specially written for the quartet.
Single tickets are $25 for adults, and $10 for youths and young adults.
