Superintendent Bruce Borchers will share his initial impressions of education in the Oak Ridge Schools and his priorities and goals during a Wednesday luncheon meeting of Altrusa International Club.
Borchers’ presentation is titled “Seeing Oak Ridge Schools through Fresh Eyes.â€
The luncheon meeting will be at the DoubleTree Hotel on South Illinois Avenue. It starts at 11:45 a.m., and visitors with reservations are welcome to attend.
Borchers accepted the superintendent’s position in May and began work in his new role this summer.
“I am excited to work in a system known for its fine schools,†Borchers said, “and proud to be part of a school community where education is valued.â€
Before he started in Oak Ridge, Borchers led the 22,000-student Rockwood School District in Eureka, Mo.
Altrusa International is a service organization comprised of community members focusing on leadership, partnership, and service with an emphasis on literacy and education.
