Helen Faye Roberson, age 84, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the Methodist Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Blackey, Ky., the daughter of John Preston Adams and Hassie Fields Adams.
Mrs. Roberson retired from the Oak Ridge school system, where she worked in the school cafeteria. She was a long-time member of Robertsville Baptist Church where, in earlier years, she was active in the Mothers Day Out program and involved in the childcare programs. She was also an avid animal lover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Emanuel Roberson on Nov. 1, 1981, and by three brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Roberson of Clinton and Tracy O’Connor and husband James of Cumming, Ga., and brother, Wendall Adams of Ohio; sister-in-law, Mattie Adams of Ohio; and two grandchildren, John O’Connor and Anna O’Connor.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Sills officiating.
