Clara Jane Butler

Clara Jane Butler, age 82, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Butler was born on Dec. 28, 1930, in Oliver Springs. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

Clara was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a member of the Kellytown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry McFarland and Annie Mae Manuel McFarland; by a granddaughter, Sierra Butler; by a sister, Hazel Lee Cox; and by a brother, Buddy McFarland.

Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, Charlie Butler Jr. of Oliver Springs; by daughters, Janice Ruth McPeters and husband Ronnie of Coalfield, and Karen Fay Oakes and husband Terry of Harriman; by sons, Charlie Butler III of Harriman, and Justin Wood of Oliver Springs; and by grandchildren, Kathie Creasey and husband Jay, Randall Wood, Peggy Dinkins and husband Robby, Rebecca Wood, Laura Lawson and husband Charlie, Stephanie Carroll, Michael Carroll, Kris Carroll and wife Ashley, Latasha Butler, Josh Butler, and Carlie Butler.

She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members and special friends.

A private service will be held at a later date. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.sharpfh.com.
