Curley T. Barton, age 68, of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was a longtime member at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Clinton. He loved his family and friends. Curley enjoyed working on his Cadillac, and walking. He enjoyed listening and dancing to ’60s music. He was a gun and knife enthusiast.
Curley worked at Allied Steel in Clinton. After that, he retired from Methodist Medical Center.
Curley was preceded in death by his parents, Nevie and Classie Mae Barton, and brothers, Nevie J. and Isiah Barton.
Curley is survived by his brother, Lincoln Barton and wife Marcia of Clinton; sister, Betty B. McKinley of Clinton; special Aunt Inez Johnson of Knoxville; and close friend, Oscar Moser.
Curley’s family received his friends on Monday, Sept. 2, from 1–2 p.m., and his funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Clinton, with Pastor William Caldwell officiating. His interment followed his service at the church cemetery.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton was in charge of all arrangements.
