Judy Ann Alcorn

Judy Ann Alcorn, age 63, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville.

Judy was born on July 3, 1950, in Abingdon, Va. She lived in Bluefield, Va., before moving to Oliver Springs in her early childhood.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she believed in the Baptist faith.

Judy was employed by Southeastern Retina Associates in Knoxville for the past 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Lambert and Billie Ruth Akers Lambert, and by a sister-in-law, Kathleen Lambert.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry Alcorn of Oliver Springs; by a daughter, April Dawn England and husband Boyce of Johnson City; by her loving granddaughter, Sophia of Johnson City; by brothers, John Lambert and wife Lavana of Oliver Springs, David Lambert of Oliver Springs, Robert Lambert of Virginia, and Gary Lambert of Tazewell, Tenn.; and by sisters, Brenda Chambers of Knoxville, and Janet Broyles and husband Fred of Speedwell, and Charlotte Frick of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.

She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Chuck Alcorn and wife Marsha of Oliver Springs, Eddy Alcorn and wife Gretchen of Knoxville, Gary Alcorn and wife Mary of Knoxville, Byron Alcorn and wife Gretchen of Rockford, Burl Alcorn and wife Darlene of Oliver Springs, and Michael Alcorn of Lake City; by sisters-in-law, Sherell Poole of Harriman, and Cathy Barry and husband Terry of Powell; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.

The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Mark Doherty and his P.A., Melanie Harrison, and the nursing staff of the oncology floor of the Johnson City Medical Center. Additionally, Judy’s family would like to thank Dr. Wooten, Dr. Williams and the Oncology staff at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to: Remote Area Medical, 1834 Beech Street Knoxville, TN 37920, or Free Medical Clinic of America, 6209 Chapman Highway Knoxville, TN 37920.

Graveside services were conducted on Saturday, Aug. 31, at noon at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park, with Scott McMinn and Gary Alcorn officiating.
