The Red Tent Women’s group will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, and all women are welcome to attend, a press release said.
“This group is a place where a woman can set aside the mantles of wife, mother, or daughter, and just celebrate being a female in all the many aspects life offers,” the release said. “The group is non-denominational, open-minded, and works to promote honest discussions about womanhood.”
This month, the group will have a multimedia presentation by Mare Martell entitled “Body Image; Embracing Your Own Perfection.” After the presentation, there will be time for discussion and sharing, the release said.
The Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church is at 1500 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Although there is no child care available, nursing mothers are welcome to attend. Teen girls are also encouraged to participate.
Attendees are asked to bring a dish or snack to pass, and drinks will be provided.
“We look forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time,” the release said.
