Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Barker

Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Barker, 59, of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, July 20, at Methodist Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Oak Ridge, the daughter of George “Chuck” Brady Borella and Lena Elna Winslett Borella, who are both deceased.

Cindy retired from BWXT, where she worked at the Y-12 plant.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose and was active with the Anderson County Toy Run. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and the companionship of her pets.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Barker; daughter, Katherine Justice Flinchum and husband Ronnie, of Knoxville; brothers, Larry Borella and wife Lucille of Austin, Texas, and Donald Borella and wife Cherie of Nashville; nieces, Darcy Borella and Sally Tucker and husband Bryan of Austin, Texas; and nephews, Brady Borella and Michael Borella of Nashville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Brian Scott officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family asks that any memorials be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, PO Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629.
