Arthur Daniel Dean, 87, of Harriman, passed away on July 13 after a brief illness.
Dan was born to parents Arthur Otis and Mattie Odessa Harding Dean in Tarrant City, Ala., on June 3. 1926. He retired from Union Carbide Corporation at the Y-12 facility as an electrician, served overseas with the Army Air Force during World War II, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid gardener, and was a devoted family man. He was also a member of IBEW.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Cleo Dean, of Chicago, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jeanne B. Dean, of Harriman;Â sons, Robert Arthur Dean and wife Ann, of Knoxville, and John Thomas Dean and wife Liese, of Stanley, Idaho; grandchildren, Cayla Dean, of Hollywood, Fla., and Cooper Dean, of Stanley, Idaho; and sisters, Billie Ewing and husband James, and Esther Barnett, all of Birmingham, Ala.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Dusty Stout officiating. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Tuesday, July 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.
