B&W Y-12 recently signed agreements with two new protégés—BES Technologies and The Molecular Group. The companies join eight other groups currently involved in Y-12’s Mentor-Protégé program.
“We are proud to have these two participants in our Mentor-Protégé program,” said B&W Y-12 President and General Manager Chuck Spencer. “These relationships significantly contribute to Y-12 achieving its objectives of promoting technological growth and business development opportunities. I believe that all parties will benefit from these partnerships.”
Located in Oak Ridge, BES Technologies will be working with mentor Tom Ford, who heads up Y-12’s Industrial Hygiene group, to provide respirator, laundry, and refurbishment support services.
BES Technologies is a service-disabled, veteran-owned business. Their protégé agreement runs through June 14 of next year. Erik Connard, the company’s chief executive officer, was on hand for the signing with Spencer.

The Molecular Group, or TMG, will work with Y-12 to examine technology evaluation and development opportunities related to missions at the site. TMG is a small engineering, environmental and lab services company with lab and office space in Louisiana State University’s Baton Rouge Campus Business Incubator.
Located in Prairieville, La., the company will work with mentor Jeremy Benton of B&W Y-12 Program Management through February 2015. Roy Lindsey, TMG president and chief executive officer, signed the company’s agreement with Spencer.
