Alene Benge

Alene Benge, age 79, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 6, at Golden Living Center–Windwood in Clinton.

Alene was a beloved wife of the late Corbitt Benge and a loving mother to her children, Mary Ann and James. She enjoyed playing bingo, going on trips with her senior friends, and fishing.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Nell Gilbert, and several brothers and sisters.

Alene is survived by her son, James Benge Jr. and wife Judy of Clinton Township, Mich.; daughter, Mary Ann Rempert and husband Steven of Woodhaven, Mich.; brother, Dallas Gilbert of Central City, Ky.; sisters, Della McIntosh of Florida, and Mary Schneiderwind of Oak Ridge; and grandchildren, Steven Rempert of Aurora, Ill., and Scott Rempert of Charlotte, N.C.

Alene’s family will have private services for her at a later date in Michigan.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
