Charles “Butch” Mosley Jr.

On Aug. 25, 1947, Charles “Butch” Mosley Jr. was born to Charlie and Susie Wilson Mosley in Briceville. Mr. Mosley went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 18, in Briceville.

Mr. Mosley and his family lived in Asheville, N.C., from 1987 until 2010. He owned and operated Mosley Construction and retired from the business at that time. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army from July 6, 1967, to June 17, 1969.

He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Mosley was an avid coon hunter, and he also enjoyed fishing and searching for ginseng.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Garry L. Mosley.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pat Sluss Mosley of Oliver Springs; son, Timmy Mosley of Oliver Springs; daughters, Clarissa “Clara” Mosley Morton and husband Kevin of Weaverville, N.C., Elizabeth Mosley Neumann of Asheville, N.C., and Becca Mosley of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Lynda Mosley, and Mary Harmon and husband Joe, all of Clinton; six grandchildren, Paul Mosley, Lauren Mosley, Joshua Mosley, Sydni Morton, Logan Morton, and Fox Neumann; nephew, Charles James Mosley and his family of Oliver Springs; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. He will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Morton officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors.
