Anna “Ann” Ruth Garner, age 76, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, June 3, at the Methodist Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born January 15, 1937 in Roane County, in the Wheat Community, the daughter of Steve Edward Davis and Hazel Roxie Hamilton Davis.

Mrs. Garner worked for many years at the Children’s Clinic in housekeeping. She also provided private child care for many children as well as being a homemaker in her own home. She was a long time member of Solway Baptist Church. Her passion in life was her family and she enjoyed participating in family activities and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lee L. Garner, November 28, 2002.

She is survived by sons, Tony Garner and wife, Vanessa, of Canyon Lake, TX and Robert Garner and wife, Mary, of Louisville, TN; daughters, Faye Crane and husband, Ken, of Oak Ridge, Jane Farmer and husband, Doug, of Clinton and Barbara Zigelnik and husband, Ilan, of Sevierville; brothers, Mack Davis of Oak Ridge and Kenny Davis and wife, Marlene, of Claxton; sisters, Hazel Coward of Claxton and Grace Smith and husband, John, of Oak Ridge; 12 grandchildren, Cijay Garner, Amanda Allen, Curtis Allen, Andrew Garner, Casey Crane, Kevin Crane and Cristina Crane, Tiffany Lively and husband, Justin, Brandon Stitt, Cody Garner, Isaac Zigelnik and Sophia Zigelnik and four great-grandchildren, Eli and Ali Lively, David Lee Gilreath and Darrell Allen.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Archer Corder officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Casey Crane, Kevin Crane, Cody Garner, Justin Lively, Mark Daniels and Steve Coward will serve as pallbearers. The family asks that memorials be made to the Genesis Christian Life Academy, 76229 North Cranes Mill Road, Canyon Lake, TX 78133.
