Fifty-two competitors signed up for the Run for the Rose Women’s 5K in Oak Ridge on Saturday.
It was part of Women’s Weekend in Oak Ridge. The weekend also included a Sunday morning Wild Rose Women’s Triathlon, which included a 300-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride, and three-mile run.
The two events started at the Grove Center Shopping Center and Oak Ridge Outdoor Pool, and participants from five states and cities throughout Tennessee were registered.
The last Wild Rose Triathlon was in 2006, said Kevin Mahan of Endurance Sports Management of Lenoir City, which organized the competitions.
