Kathleen Lena Dunn Oden, age 88, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 11, at her home.
Mrs. Oden was born July 21, 1924, in Roane County. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
Before her retirement, she was employed as an inspector at both Roane Hosiery and Burlington Hosiery Mills for more than 38 years. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, canning and gardening.
She was a faithful Christian and a longtime member of Beech Park Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, John David Brown and Elsie Wells Brown, she was preceded by her first husband, John Dunn; by brothers, George and John Brown Jr.; and by sisters, Verma Lee Brown, Minnie Tuck, and Jeanette Britt Brown.
Mrs. Oden is survived by her husband of 47 years, David C. Oden of Oliver Springs; by a son, Lester Dunn and wife Brenda, of Oak Ridge; by a grandson, Stephen Dunn and wife Amber, of Oak Ridge; by great-grandchildren, Stephen Gage and Jayleigh Dunn; and by sisters, Elizabeth Moore and husband John, Mable England and husband Raymond, and Hannah Tuggle, all of Oliver Springs.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of special friends, including Katie Byer and her Sunday School Class at Beech Park Baptist Church.
The family received friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robbie Leach officiating.
Burial and graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Oliver Springs Cemetery.
