Herbert Fritts, Jr., age 56, a resident of the Dyllis Community in Roane County, passed away Sunday, May 5, at Methodist Medical Center.
Mr. Fritts was born July 5, 1956, in Harriman. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dean Fritts; by his stepfather, Charles Ward; and by his father-in-law, Harold McKinney.
Herbert was employed as the shipping and receiving coordinator at American Magnetics for the past 28 years.
He was a member of the Dyllis Baptist Church, and a charter member of the Windrock A.T.V. Club. He enjoyed riding his ATV and his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, and he was a former president of the Windrock A.T.V. Club.
He is survived by his wife, Debra McKinney Fritts, of Dyllis; by his father, Herbert Fritts, Sr. and wife Shirley, of Oliver Springs; by his mother, Ethel Ward of Oliver Springs; by a son, Anthony Paul Fritts of Oliver Springs; by a daughter, Stacey Danielle Fritts, of Dyllis; by grandchildren, Alana Skyler Fritts and Anthony Gregory Steven Alcorn; and by a step-granddaughter, Kimberlee Diana Alcorn; and by a step-great-granddaughter, Aurora Renee Graham.
He is also survived by brothers, Tony E. Fritts and wife Jennifer, of Greenback, and Bernie J. Fritts and wife Cassie, of Mesa, Ariz.; by a sister, Theresa Lewis and husband Robert, of Crossville; by a step-brother, Charles Ward, Jr., and wife Janice, of Alabama; and by special friends, David Rose and David and Cheryl Lemarr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Edwards and Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.
