Minter M. “Buck” Stout, age 77, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, March 20, at Methodist Medical Center.
He was born March 11, 1936, in Doddridge County, W.Va., the son of Ross Brown Stout and Geraldine Barnes Stout.
Mr. Stout retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He retired from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, where he was a computer system analyst at the K-25 plant.
Mr. Stout was a longtime member of the United Church Chapel on the Hill, where he served as an usher for many years. In earlier years, he was a ham radio operator who went by the handle, WA4LZA. He was also an avid bowler and participated in that sport until his early senior years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Camelia DeVaney Stout, on May 7, 2009.
He is survived by sons, Mark Stout of Cocoa, Fla., and Chris Stout and wife Theresa of Oak Ridge; daughter, Lori England and husband Danny of Oak Ridge; sister, Sue Brown and husband Fred of Ft. Ashby, W.Va., and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Randy Hammer officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that any memorials be made to Alzheimer’s TN or the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research.
