There have been concerns about how plans to redraw Tennessee’s judicial districts might affect Anderson County, and a local organization has scheduled a Thursday night forum to discuss the proposals.

The forum is presented by the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge, and it starts at 7 p.m. Thursday in the City Room at the Roane State Community College campus in Oak Ridge.

Panelists will give a brief explanation of their roles and how the proposed legislation might affect their jobs, a press release said. After all panel members have presented their remarks, questions will be accepted from the audience. Kathy Edwards will serve as the moderator.

Those who have been invited to participate are Oak Ridge Police Chief James Akagi, District Attorney General Dave Clark, Circuit Court Judge Donald Elledge, Chancellor William Lantrip, Public Defender Tom Marshall, Sen. Randy McNally, and Rep. John Ragan.

For more information, contact Voter Service Chairperson Hella Peterson at (865) 483-6262.
