Roane State students place in Top 10 in math contest

Several students from Roane State Community College placed in the Top 10 in various categories in the annual Tennessee Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges Math Contest.

Students earned honors in the following categories:

  • Calculus A—Marcus Wise of Kingston, second place; Jordan Lelle of Oak Ridge, fifth place; and Chris Shafer of Briceville, seventh place
  • Calculus B—Michelle Edwards of Rockwood, seventh place
  • Precalculus—Sujeong Lee of Knoxville, first place; Robert Jansen of Oak Ridge, fifth place; Erin Goldston of Harriman, sixth place; Guillermo Neumer-Hernandez of Kingston, eighth place
  • Statistics: Orrin Davis of Harriman, second place; Marty Marsee of Jellico, eighth place
