A Wednesday morning program will help small business owners understand how to do business with the federal government.

It’s presented by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. It’s scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The program is “designed to introduce the business owner or manager to the diversity of government purchasing,” a press release said. “Participants will learn how to get involved in the governmental contracting process and bid successfully in the government marketplace.”

The speaker is Paul Middlebrooks, a marketing consultant in the Procurement Technical Assistance Center at the University of Tennessee’s Center for Industrial Services.

Attendance is free, but reservations are required. To sign up, call Jutta Bangs at the TSBDC at (865) 483-2668 or send her an e-mail jbangs@tsbdc.org.

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is at 1400 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
