Rayburn Seiber, age 67, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, at Parkwest Medical Center.
Mr. Seiber was born Aug. 19, 1945, in the New River community of Anderson County.
Rayburn was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, going to NASCAR races, and gardening.
Mr. Seiber is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Seiber and Ruthie Bunch Seiber; by a stepmother, Bonnie Carroll Seiber; by brothers, Bernard Seiber, Austin Seiber, and Leonard Seiber; by a son-in-law, Eddie Dean Kennedy; by brother-in-laws, James Lowe, Arley Bray, and Max Everett; and by sisters, Beatrice Bray, Barbara Everett, and Ruby Seiber.
Rayburn is survived by his wife, Frankie Carroll Seiber, of Coalfield; by a son, Davey Seiber, of Coalfied; by a daughter, Teresa Seiber Kennedy, of Lake City; by grandchildren, Derek Seiber and Angel Seiber; by a great-grandchild, Autumn Seiber; by brothers, Howard Seiber and wife Kathy of Coalfield, Roger Seiber and wife Mary Ann, of Harriman, Donnie Seiber and wife Beverly, of Wartburg, and Charlie Seiber and wife Larresha of Harriman; and by sisters, Bernice Lowe, of Kingston, Nancy Brock and husband James, of Harriman, Sue Ferguson and husband Rollo, of Belews Creek, N.C., and Peggy Melhorn and husband David Henry of Friendsville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Jan. 30, between 6 and 9 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home.
The family will also receive friends, Thursday, Jan. 31, between 12 and 2 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church in New River. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the church, with Pastor Luke Ward officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Shiloh Cemetery in New River.
