An Oak Ridge official will discuss the city’s state and federal legislative agendas during a Tuesday “Lunch with the League.”

During the noon meeting, Oak Ridge Government and Public Affairs Coordinator Amy Fitzgerald will provide an overview of the agendas and discuss the impacts of the 2012 election.

The legislative agendas are developed each year by the city staff with help from the state and federal lobbyists, and then considered by the Oak Ridge City Council.

Tuesday’s “Lunch with the League starts at noon in the Social Hall of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 1500 Oak Ridge Turnpike (traffic light # 11).

“Lunch with the League” is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge and open to the public. There is no cost to attend, and reservations are not needed. Box lunches will be available starting at 11:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis for $7, or you may bring your own. Coffee and tea are provided.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of public policy through unbiased studies of public issues. Membership is open to both men and women. For more information, visit lwvoakridge.org.
