Kathleen Carr Holbrook

Kathleen Carr Holbrook, age 84, of Clinton, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 9.

She was born on May 28, 1928, to the late Ezra and Anna Carr.

Kathleen was a member of South Clinton Baptist Church and was employed at Magnet Knitting Mills for 21 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Kathleen is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arnold Holbrook; sisters, Gertrude McFarland, Gladys Eppard, and Martha Turner; and brother, Sherman Carr.

Left to cherish her memories is her son, Patrick Arnold Holbrook and Rene; daughter, Donzettia Holbrook Bean and Toney; grandchildren, Tracey Holbrook Graham and Greg, Charlie Holbrook and Tessa, and Katie Hill Davis and James; great-grandchildren, Shelby Maddox, T.J., Ambry, and Marcus Graham, Seth and Kendra Holbrook, Caleb Hill-Davis and Kaylee Davis; sisters, Sibbieleen Russell and Mona Lindsey; brother, Shirley Carr and Bonita; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen’s pallbearers were Ricky and Tim Wood, Scott Lindsey, John and Steve Carr, Matt McGhee, and special neighbor Gene Rittenhouse.

Her family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Her funeral service followed at 8 p.m. with Rev. Roger Pugh officiating.

Her interment and graveside service was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan 12, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Pamela Bridgeman and Dr. Mitchell Weiss and their staff, Covenant Home Health (especially Mike and Sheila), Dr. Mitchell Williams and Dr. Sexton, as well as the nurses and staff of Park West Hospital for their kindness and care during their mother’s illness.
