Marjorie Ann Brown

Marjorie Ann Brown, age 67, a resident of the Marlow Community in Anderson County, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, at her home.

Mrs. Brown was born July 4, 1945, in Oliver Springs. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church.

Before her retirement in 2006, she was employed at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge in the registration department for 17 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Lucille Cryer Haney.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Grady Layne Brown; by daughters, Teresa Phillips and husband Earl of Oliver Springs, and Victoria Hampton of Clinton; by sons, Timothy Ledford and wife Tina of Oak Ridge, and Douglas Brown and wife Donna of Maryland; and by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is also survived by a brother, James Clifford Haney and wife Rebecca of Loudon, and by a sister, Barbara Gail Brown and husband Robert of Oliver Springs.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Poplar Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service followed at 2 p.m. in the church, with Pastor Donnie Moore officiating.
