While many were singing “Auld Lang Syne†to cap off 2012 and welcome in the New Year, the delivery of 6 lbs., 15 oz. Lyric Kendall Phillips brought the sweet sounds of a new baby to parents Mandy Truax and Cody Phillips. Lyric made her debut just a little past midnight on New Year’s morning, making her the first baby of 2013 born at Methodist Medical Center—and the first new resident of Clinton.
Lyric is shown in the photo wearing a special outfit and New Year’s hair bow purchased just for her first official photo shoot. The basket shown in the background was a celebratory gift from Methodist’s Family Birthing Center. Contents included a variety of baby care items, a special handprint memory kit, and a gift card donated by Ridgepoint Church. The blanket was a handmade gift from a member of Methodist’s Volunteer Services department.
Lyric joins three siblings—Caleb, 6; Ashlyn, 4 and Leland, 2—who, according to Mom and Dad, are “very excited to have a new baby sister in the family.†Proud grandparents include Rynda and “Danny†Hardwick of Oliver Springs, Vicki Phillips of Lancing, and Joey Phillips of Lake City.
