Paul Edmond Duncan, age 73, a resident of the Marlow community of Anderson County, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, at Methodist Medical Center.
Mr. Duncan was born April 16, 1939, in Campbell County. The Duncan family moved to the Marlow community of Anderson County following the second World War in the mid 1940s.
Paul owned and operated A&A Painting before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and watching football and was a member of Batley Baptist Church.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rosa Cleveland; by his wife, Rosalie Duncan; by brothers, Robert Duncan and William “Bill” Duncan; and by a sister, Pauline Steed.
Paul is survived by daughters, Teresa Watson and husband Richard of Claxton, Sheila Darlene Adams and husband Tim of Knoxville, Pat Rainey and husband Roger of Marlow, and Tonia Gail Duncan of Marlow; by a son, Paul Daniel Duncan of Rossville, Ga.; and by a special cousin, Jerry Brock and his wife Polly.
Paul is also survived by grandchildren, Adam Watson and wife Sarah, April Watson, Devin Watson, Samantha Gordon, Timothy Adams, Kelly Rainey, Eric Rainey, Allan Self, and Isabella Ortiz. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Taylor Carden, Hayley Carden, Kaylen Hillard, and Kaydin Rainey; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 5, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Luke Kidwell and Pastor Kenny Bean officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Sulfur Springs Cemetery in Clinton.
